Upholding their pledge of allegiance, the initial 34 soldiers, despite being clad in simple attire and armed with basic weapons, displayed ingenuity and creativity under the leadership of the military strategist Vo Nguyen Giap. Merely three days after its formation, the unit secured victories at Phai Khat and Na Ngan, establishing the Vietnam People's Army's enduring legacy of 'Determination to fight, determination to win'."
