In his speech, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tay Ninh Province Tran Van Chien stressed the milestones that mark the faithful solidarity, loyalty, and love between the Vietnamese and Cuban peoples of Vietnam. Shortly after the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam was established, the Republic of Cuba was the first and only country to send an Ambassador and present his credentials to the Government on March 4, 1969.
The residence and working place of Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba Raul Valdes Vivo is located in the historical site of the Provisional Revolutionary Government Base of the Republic of South Vietnam in Tay Ninh province. Chien shared that the Ambassador's Memorial House has been restored to the exact location where the Cuban Embassy was located 55 years ago. The memorabilia collection remains there.
Chien proposed that, to further tighten the special relationship between the two countries in general, and between Tay Ninh province and the Consulate General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City in particular, the Cuban Consulate will continue to coordinate and support the province. He suggests the focus areas like pharmaceutical technology, medical human resource training, and community health care. Tay Ninh province also wishes to promote cultural exchange between young generations of the two countries, contributing to maintaining the good traditional fraternal relationship between the two peoples.
