While the people on the mainland are preparing to welcome a warm and happy Tet with their families, at sea, the Vietnamese Coast Guards are still with their ships on duty to be ready for combat, patrolling, law enforcement, pandemic prevention and control, and rescue throughout the seas and islands of the country.

Welcoming spring in the middle of the sea, the heart of each officer and soldier is always towards the homeland and family, showing the determination to protect the peace of the country during the traditional Tet holidays of the nation.

There are only a few days left until Vietnam's biggest holiday, the ships of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command continue to leave the port to go on Tet duty.

On January 23, the ship CSB 4036 left the port to set sail, protecting the peace in the area of Bach Long Vi island district, Hai Phong. A long journey has been fully and carefully prepared.

Major Ngo The Trung, said that at this time, taking advantage of the weather situation in the Gulf of Tonkin sea with fog, strong waves, many foreign fishing vessels violated our country's waters to fish. Therefore, the Coast Guard ships must be regularly present to carry out the task of expelling the violating fishing boats from the waters under Vietnam's sovereignty.

Besides, with the Covid-19 pandemic still having unpredictable risks, the task for the ships on duty is to carry out pandemic prevention and control work on the sea.

Ngo Duc Quang Hoa, captain of the ship CSB 4036 said: "During missions at sea, with Covid-19, the ship's commander informed all officers and soldiers on board about strictly following the pandemic prevention and control work, especially in patrolling, and regularly strengthening observation and grasping the situation at sea. During the inspection process, we will resolutely fight and prevent illegal entry by sea, contributing to joining hands with the mainland to fight the pandemic.

Performing tasks during the coming Tet holiday, the unit's leaders and commanders always follow all activities, promptly lead and direct to ensure safety in all aspects. Welcoming the new spring without forgetting the mission, the duty of being ready to fight is always a top priority these days.

Colonel Tran Van Nam said: “In addition to the task of ensuring a happy Tet for the soldiers, an important task is to be ready to fight at sea. We are determined to always follow the assigned targets, ensure absolute safety in all aspects, in the air and at sea, ensure security, order and safety in the assigned sea area. Thereby, it contributes to firmly protecting the country's sovereignty over sea and sacred islands."

Each soldier follows the determined wishes of Major Lam Van Hanh, captain of the CSB 4036: "We Vietnamese Coast Guard soldiers on duty at sea on Tet would like to wish everyone in the mainland a New Year with joy and happiness. At sea, we will always unite together, overcome all difficulties to firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland."

For the Coast Guard, the love of the sea and the island always blend with the love of the motherland and country. They always look towards the mainland, where their families are. They are more determined to protect the peace of life and of the country.
