Tet traditional flower market opens in Hanoi
A traditional flower market for the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2016 opened on January 25th, on Hang Luoc street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi city, to welcome the 12th National Party Congress.
In his opening speech at the event, Deputy Chairman of the Hoan Kiem district People’s Committee Nguyen Anh Quan stressed that the traditional flower market on Hang Luoc street has been a unique and familiar cultural feature of people living in Hanoi's Old Quarter for many years.

Aiming to preserve and promote the intangible cultural value and maintain the cultural beauty of Hanoi people, the district continues improving the quality of Tet traditional flower markets to serve the demand for purchasing flowers and ornamental plants for the special occasion, he said.
This year, the district focused on decorating and lighting the market, as well as organizing art and cultural activities to serve residents and tourists during the event.
The event is scheduled to last until February 7th./.
