Happy to see the audience come to Thien Truong Stadium
Nikorndej Balankura shared his feelings after watching the match between Thailand and Malaysia on the first day of Group B at Thien Truong Stadium. The Thai Ambassador to Vietnam said he was surprised when this stadium received nearly 29,000 spectators even though this was not a match with the presence of the home team.
"When I hear Vietnamese fans shouting "su su", a cheering phrase in Thai, I feel happy, feel the love and hospitality of Vietnamese fans for Thai players", Nikorndej Balankura said.
Ambassador Nikorndej Balankura also said that the audience's arrival at Thien Truong Stadium also showed good control of the Covid-19 pandemic. Vietnam has carried out a good vaccination campaign, and the vaccination rate is almost 100% of the population.

After 2 years of the Covid-19 pandemic, restricting travel between countries, the 31st SEA Games with 11 countries and more than 10,000 people present in this event also shows the readiness of Southeast Asian countries in overcoming this pandemic.
It also affirms that Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries are safe destinations and ready to welcome tourists back.
Ambassador Nikorndej Balankura also said he would watch and cheer for matches with the presence of the Vietnamese team.
Strengthening people-to-people exchanges through the 31st SEA Games
Ambassador Nikorndej Balankura said that when he heard that the 31st SEA Games would take place in Hanoi in May, the Embassy had an exchange with the Olympic Committee of Thailand.
They also work with relevant Thai ministries and agencies in supporting sports delegations to attend the SEA Games and also work closely with the Vietnamese organizers.
To foster social activities related to the 31st SEA Games, Ambassador Nikorndej Balankura said the Thai Embassy had organized a community activity, connecting people from both nations. In a supportive atmosphere, fans come together to draw posters and cards to send to Thai athletes and sports delegations attending the 31st SEA Games.
