Thai Binh Corp donates USD 150.000 to Cuba for hurricance Irma relief
VNF - On the afternoon of September 14, at the Embassy of Cuba in Vietnam, Thai Binh Investment and Trading Corporation (Thai Binh Corp) donated USD 150.000 to share difficulties with Cuban people who are suffering heavy loss from hurricance Irma.

The handover ceremony was witnessed by Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Herminio Lopez Diaz, Chairman of the Managing Board cum CEO of Thai Binh Corp Tran Thanh Tu, representatives of Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Associations.
On behalf of the Cuban side receiving the support, Ambassador Herminio Lopez said Cuban people are suffering heavy consequences caused by hurricane Irma, the strongest storm landed in Cuba during the last century.
The Ambassador said the recovery work is ongoing and will continue for serveral days. Many factories are devasted, many places are flooded and people still live in blackouts. Although there has’t been official statistics yet, the economic damage caused by the storm is enormous.
Ambassador Herminio appreciated the Vietnam business for supporting Cuba in this difficult situation. Thai Binh Corp has been a trading partner of Cuba for many years. The company is very well-known to Cuban people. The Ambassador expected the timely assistance from the company would help Cuban people early overcome consequences and return to their normal life.

Tran Thanh Tu, CEO of Thai Binh Corp said the two countries Vietnam and Cuba have longstanding traditions of friendship and brotherhood, always supporting each other during the ups and downs of history. President Fidel Castro once said “For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to shed blood”. Because of this good sentiment, Vietnam businesses always join hands with Cuba to overcome the pain and loss.
Tran Thanh tu hopes there will be more Vietnamese enterprises helping Cuba overcome the hurricance damage, expecting that the Cuban people would quickly overcome the difficulties, so that the Carribean island could be beautiful again./.
