Thanh Hoa Province Supports Japanese Investors

On March 4, leaders of Thanh Hoa province had a working session with a delegation of Japanese organizations, banks and businesses. They come to survey, research, find out about investment opportunities in Thanh Hoa.
Receiving and working with the delegation, Thanh Hoa province had Nguyen Van Thi, standing vice chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, and enterprises of the province.
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Thi said that Japan is an important and leading partner in many fields of Thanh Hoa province.
Therefore, Thanh Hoa province has implemented external activities, connecting investment, trade and tourism with Oyabe city, Toyama province. In 2021, the province also established and put into operation the Japan Desk Thanh Hoa.

On behalf of the leaders of Thanh Hoa province, Nguyen Van Thi appreciated the support of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, the JETRO Hanoi, JICA Vietnam and other Japanese organizations and businesses for prioritizing support and investment in Thanh Hoa province.
He also hopes that Japanese agencies, and businesses will continue to pay attention to investing and supporting the province. This is for Thanh Hoa province to develop socio-economic, build e-government, improve business investment environment and support investment attraction.
Thanh Hoa province is also committed to accompanying and supporting investors in the process of implementing projects.
Speaking at the meeting, Yamamoto Kohei, second secretary of the Economic Department of Japan's Embassy said: The relationship between Vietnam-Japan and Thanh Hoa-Japan is developing in all fields. Yamamoto Kohei hopes that after this survey, there will be many Japanese investors interested in investing in Thanh Hoa province.

Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has signed a agreement with Biomass Fuel Nghi Son Co., Ltd. to invest in a wood pellet factory with a capacity of 200,000 tons of products/year, and a high-tech wood processing factory with a capacity of 5,000 tons/year
Japan Desk Thanh Hoa and BIDV also signed an agreement to attract investment from Japan to Thanh Hoa province.
Thanh Hoa cooperates extensively with JapanRegarding foreign direct investment (FDI), investment capital from Japan currently reaches nearly US$6.6 billion, accounting for 51% of total FDI investment, and is the country with the highest amount of investment capital in FDI in Thanh Hoa province. Regarding non-governmental aid, until now, Thanh Hoa province has received 10 ODA programs and projects of JICA Japan, with a total committed ODA of nearly US$45.5 million. The Japanese Embassy has also donated about VND2 billion (US$87,535)/project in health, education, water supply in difficult areas of the province. In import and export, in 2019 Thanh Hoa province's export turnover to the Japanese market reached US$383 million, accounting for 10.9% of the total export turnover of the province. In 2020, the turnover value has reached US$385 million. Regarding labor export, from 2016 to now, Thanh Hoa province has had over 13,000 trainees sent to Japan for training in small and medium enterprises. |
