Entrance to the exhibition is free from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm at Da Nang Fine Arts Museum (78 Le Duan Street, Hai Chau 2 Ward, Hai Chau District).
“Defining beauty is a subjective matter, everyone of us has their own criteria and definition. Opposed to this multitude of very personal visions of what beauty can be, the society and the media are showing and selling us a very coded version of it, one that leaves little space for differences, for “out of standard” size, singular faces, or older people,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
“I was inspired to do this project because I believe there are many layers to a person and that their years and their long life story enrich the lives of others. It feels even more true here in Vietnam, where I find old women incredibly strong. They worked hard most of their life, but despite the hardships, they are not only very warming, kind and generous but also extremely funny, and cheeky as would young girls.”

“They say that ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ and as a photographer, I think that there is something that transcends the modern perceptions of what beauty is. I want to show you the deeper side of humanity, something that has ageless beauty,” he continued.
Recently, the photo titled “World’s most beautiful old woman” by Réhahn was sold for USD 10,000.
The photo belongs to his project “Hidden smile” in 2014, which features an old woman named Xong (aged 80), a boat rower on Hoai River in Hoi An city of central Quang Nam province.
Part of the proceeds will be given to Xong each month. This is one of the artist’s efforts to support Vietnamese disadvantaged children, old people and ethnic minorities./.
