The First Vietnam Food and Beverage Mini Fair in Penang (Malaysia) Takes Place
Vietnamese products at the fair included rice, instant noodles, dried pho, fresh fruit, and dried fruit. There are also a variety of dairy products like powdered milk, fresh milk, nut milk, and many spices like nuts. pepper and fish sauce. They represent the major product groups from Vietnam.

Many booths introducing traditional Vietnamese cuisine were also introduced to Malaysian friends at the fair. The booths are operated by the overseas Vietnamese residents in Penang city. They prepared and introduced traditional Vietnamese dishes like pho, banh mi, and Hue beef noodle soup, which attracted the attention of many foreign friends.

At the event, Vietnam Trade Counselor in Malaysia Le Phu Cuong sharted that about 3,000 Vietnamese products have received Halal certificates from Malaysia. This certificate is a necessary condition to enter the Malaysian market and other Muslim countries.
The fair will not only raise awareness of Malaysian consumers and retailers about the diversity of Vietnamese products but also promote trade relations between the two countries, Cuong said.
Executive Director, in charge of the Tourism and Creative Economy of Penang city Wong Hon Wai hoped that the 4-day fair would be a dynamic platform for Vietnamese and Malaysian businesses to form networks and conduct cultural exchanges. He agreed that it would help strengthen the strong relationship between Vietnam and Malaysia in general and with Penang in particular.
