Lao Xa Village

Lao Xa village is about 6km from the center of Sung La commune, Dong Van district. This place has gentle slopes, halfway up the mountain is where people live, and the farmers plant corn and vegetables at the foot of the mountain. In the spring, Lao Xa village attracts tourists with the gorgeous sight of the peach blossom and plum flowers blooming all over the hills and mountains. There is also a famous handicraft silver carving of the Mong people, which is preserved with many complicated and meticulous stages.

The village boasts its pristine beauty with traditional ‘trinh tuong’ (earthen) houses imbued with the cultural identity of the Mong people. This type of house is typically built by using a mixture of clay and mud, covered by increasingly rare yin-and-yang tiled roofs.

Therefore, when traveling to Dong Van and coming to Lao Xa is an opportunity for visitors to learn more about the culture of the Mong people and enjoy the picturesque scenery of this land. The journey to Lao Xa takes visitors through rustic and winding roads. The deeper you go into the village, the more you have the opportunity to admire the poetic beauty of this land.

Lo Lo Chai Village

Located at the foot of Dragon Mountain, where the sacred Lung Cu flagpole of the country is located, Lo Lo Chai is a village of the Lo Lo ethnic group - one of the ethnic minorities in Ha Giang. During this time, households in Lo Lo Chai began to make homestays and travel services to serve tourists. With more than 140 households, this place is gradually becoming an attractive tourist destination.

Lo Lo Chai has also become a community-based cultural tourism village with homestays.

The main road, which leads into the village center, is full of daisies. Visitors should traverse the road at a leisurely pace and see the village. They will recognize familiar trinh tuong (earthen) houses that appear after the stone fences, with maize hung on the houses and peach trees grown in front of them.

Thien Huong Village

Thien Huong village is hidden deep behind the mountains and near Nho Que River, more than 5km north of Dong Van town. This place is suitable for tourists who enjoy a “slow-paced” life and are immersed in the beauty of nature. This border village is home to the Tay ethnic community with traditional craft winemaking.

Arriving at the village, what welcomes tourists is a group of century-old banana trees that buried the time dedicated to the forest god. As custom obliges, the villagers meet there every month on the 1st and 15th lunar days to worship the god, wishing for good harvests and health for all. Among the centuries-old trees found there, four have been classified as having existed for 700 - 750 years old.

Pa Vi Village

Pa Vi is a new community-based tourism village that has attracted the attention of tourists when coming to the Dong Van Rock plateau. The homestays in Pa Vi village are built in the style of the Mong ethnic group, surrounded by stone fences, with many beautiful flowers planted, creating a lovely landscape.

The village has a total area of more than 46,000 m2, including 3 main areas with nearly 30 households living and doing community tourism. The village has a cultural house, a display house according to the traditional model of the Mong people, and a hexagonal playground used as a place for traditional cultural and artistic performances to preserve and promote the culture of the Mong people.
