Accompanied the delegation were the USAID Vietnam Director Ann Marie Yastishock, Economic Attaché Alex Tatsis, Controller Caitlin Cassot and official representatives of Can Tho city.

Ambassador Marc Evans Knapper promoted the development in both size and quality of Vietnam's dairy industry, as well as the growth of Vinamilk in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating a stable domestic market and an impressive export results.

He also appreciates the supportive policies, the dynamism in trade promotion activities and that local businesses have contributed to increasing the efficiency of economic cooperation between Vietnam and the United States in recent years.

The new ambassador and the delegation also listen to the presentation of Can Tho Dairy Factory about Vinamilk's experiences in dealing with the Covid-19 epidemic, production stabilization and constant development.

Vinamilk currently has a system of 16 factories and 14 international standard farms in Vietnam and abroad. Since 2021, Can Tho dairy factory with an area of ​​more than 2 hectares, specialized in the production of pasteurized fresh milk, condensed milk, yogurt, ice cream. It provides a total capacity of more than 202,000 tons of products/ year.

According to Mr. Pham Minh Duong, Director of Vinamilk Dairy Factory in Can Tho, in 2021, despite being significantly affected of the epidemic, the factory still ensures a seamless supply chain of raw materials, producing tens of tons of fresh milk per day for Can Tho city and neighboring provinces. The proactive response measures to COVID-19 were "Three on the spot", rapid vaccination for all employees to protect the health of workers during the pandemic.

Hence, even during the outbreak of the epidemic, the dairy factory in Can Tho still had an output of 40-50 million products/month.

To develop Vietnam's dairy industry and bring the story "Vietnamese dairy dream" to the world, Vinamilk has continuously invested in modern equipment and technology in the farm-factory system, achieving international standards such as FDA and Organic standard.

With more than 250 types of high quality products in nearly 20 product groups such as liquid milk, powdered milk, condensed milk, yogurt, fruit juice, nut milk... Vinamilk meets all needs. nutrition of the domestic and international market.

In Vietnam, Vinamilk is chosen as the best-selling brand for 10 consecutive years, leading many major sectors such as baby formula, liquid milk.

In the international market, Vinamilk is in the Top 40 largest dairy companies in the world in terms of revenue. Vinamilk's exporting countries had reached to 57 countries, including major markets such as the United States, Japan, Korea, China... with a total cumulative export turnover of more than US $2.6 billion.

Vinamilk owns a Driftwood milk factory in California (US), exporting US condensed milk and creamer products under the brand name Driftwood. Vinamilk is currently importing raw milk powder from the US to produce infant and adult milk powder.

In addition, the company also imports breeding dairy cows and dairy farming technology equipment from the US. From 2019 to the end of 2021, import turnover from the United States is nearly US $306 million.

The new ambassador, the delegation and Vinamilk expressed their optimism that the cooperation opportunities between Vinamilk and US partners will improve in the near future when international trade activities are promoted in the "new normal".

The Ambassador thanked leaders for the warm welcome, welcoming the city that he will be the bridge to introduce the potentials of Can Tho city to major US investors. The Ambassador also expressed his hope that during his term, he would contribute to enhance the relationship between the United States and Vietnam in general, and Can Tho City in particular.
