The company has been conducting many support activities for the community, including the medical field.
Dow Vietnam sincerely thanks PACCOM for connecting DOW Vietnam and REI to jointly carry out this meaningful program at Hanoi Medical University Hospital. DOW hopes that the small gift will contribute to supporting the Emergency and Critical Care Department of Hanoi Medical University Hospital in examining and treating patients.
Specifically, the Emergency and Critical Care Department, has received a 5-parameter patient monitor which has the function of monitoring End-tidal CO2 (EtCO2).
Receiving this gift, the Head of the department, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Bui Hai stressed that for many years, REI has had many support activities for Hanoi Medical University Hospital, especially in nursing training.
In addition to modern nursing knowledge, nurse lecturers have participated in direct working sessions in the hospital room with the hospital's nurses. Through that, young English-speaking nurses at Hanoi Medical University Hospital have had access to modern practices, methods, and knowledge from countries around the world such as the US and Canada. REI's team of experts has also organized foreign language classes and specialized English training for nurses, doctors, and hospital staff.
James W. Kang, REI Director for Vietnam, appreciated the cooperation between Bach Mai Hospital and REI for nearly 30 years. |
On the same afternoon, at Bach Mai Hospital, Dow Vietnam and REI donated essential medical supplies to the Emergency Department of Bach Mai Hospital, to support the hospital with additional equipment to serve patients.
From 1996 until now, Bach Mai Hospital and REI in Vietnam have had a traditional relationship. That cooperation has helped the Vietnamese Otorhinolaryngology field in general and the doctors and nurses of Bach Mai Hospital in particular, to update and improve their knowledge in diagnosis and treatment using advanced methods, actively contributing to community health care.
REI brought experts from the Hough Ear Institute (HEI) from the USA, to volunteer at Bach Mai Hospital. Through REI Vietnam, in 2012, HEI invited one otolaryngologist from Bach Mai Hospital to train in the US. The two sides have organized many conferences, seminars, and training courses and brought key staff to study in the US.
Speaking at the event, REI Director for Vietnam, James W. Kang, appreciated the cooperation between Bach Mai Hospital and REI in recent times. For REI Vietnam, Bach Mai Hospital has been a partner for nearly 30 years. They are very grateful to Bach Mai Hospital for always trusting and remembering REI every time they need support. He hopes the relationship between REI Vietnam and Bach Mai Hospital will continue to grow longer and stronger.
The gift to the hospital includes two sets of CardioTouch 3000 - a premium quality interpretive 12 channel electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) machine; and 2 laptops for medical data collection.

Currently, the A9 Emergency Center welcomes a large number of patients, so it is in great need of support from medical resources. The hospital's machines are old and difficult to purchase, especially lacking in electrocardiogram machines.
Bach Mai Hospital hopes that REI will introduce more international experts to expand cooperation with the hospital, accompany in the process of building and developing the hospital, and improve the service quality. As a special-class general hospital, Bach Mai Hospital always understands the importance of international cooperation, joint development between regional countries, and improving the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people.
