An Bang beach in the central city of Hoi An and My Khe beach in the central city of Da Nang have been named among the top 10 best beaches in Asia, as voted on by readers of renowned travel website TripAdvisor, VOV reported.

According to the list, An Bang ranked in fifth place, while My Khe came in sixth.

TripAdvisor said that An Bang Beach boasts an array of attractions with its powder-white sand, blue skies, and stunning views.

“The beach is set against a lush, green backdrop and home to a coral reef, making it a perfect spot for swimming and snorkeling,” it noted.

The website also suggests that thrill-seekers go paragliding, jet skiing, and body surfing in the cool blue waters.

If visitors are looking for something more relaxed, TripAdvisor added, then they should kick back on a lounge chair under a palm tree or bike along the nearby path.

“My Khe Beach checks all the boxes when you want a relaxing beach day: Powdery-soft sand, gentle surf, coconut trees swaying in the breeze,” TripAdvisor highlighted on its website.

It shared that when visitors are ready to take things up a notch, then they should go for a dip in the water or surfing.

My Khe Beach is located in Phuoc My ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang city, about 2km from the city centre. The beach is about 900m long, and one of the busiest among Da Nang’s beaches.

My Khe Beach has been honored multiple times in the list of the world’s most beautiful beaches. The beach, which runs from the base of the Son Tra peninsula to the Marble Mountains, comes in at number eight on the Travelers’ Choice’s Best of the Best Beaches for 2023.

My Khe was also voted by Forbes magazine as one of the most attractive beaches on the planet, after fully meeting their criteria of convenience, being free for tourists, and boasting long and flat sand banks.

Meanwhile, in 2019, An Bang beach was voted among the 25 best beaches in Asia by readers of TripAdvisor, the world’s most popular travel guide and review website.

The beach, which is around 3km from the World Heritage ancient town of Hoi An and 22 kilometers south of Da Nang, is in 17th position. This was the fourth consecutive year An Bang has won a place on the list.

An Bang first came into the international limelight when CNN listed it as one of the 100 best beaches on earth in 2011.

Rounding off the list of top 10 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best Beaches were Banana Beach of Phuket in Thailand, Haeundae Beach of Busan in the Republic of Korea, Nai Harn Beach of Phuket in Thailand, Benaulim Beach of India, Radhanagar Beach of Havelock Island in India, Mirissa Beach of Sri Lanka, and Melasti Beach of Ungasan in Indonesia.

The beaches were voted based on their popularity, convenience to access, landscapes, and activities on offer.

The Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best title celebrates the highest level of excellence in travel. It’s awarded to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period.
