UNESCO Accompanies Hanoi in Protecting Cultural Heritage

At the meeting, Firmin Edouard Matoko appreciated the attention and importance that Vietnam gave to the UNESCO cooperation mechanism.
He emphasized the outstanding cooperation results between Vietnam and UNESCO in recent times, towards the goal of sustainable development, ensuring the country's socio-economic development, and implementing the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
According to Firmin Edouard Matoko, the UNESCO office in Hanoi is the most productive and efficient in Asia. Hanoi received the title of City for Peace and also became a member of UNESCO's Creative Cities Network. Therefore, Firmin Edouard Matoko believes that Hanoi is a typical success of Vietnam in UNESCO projects.

On behalf of UNESCO, Firmin Edouard Matoko affirmed that UNESCO will accompany Vietnam and Hanoi capital, particularly in preserving and promoting cultural heritage. UNESCO will continue to support Vietnam in the future.
On behalf of the city government and people, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha thanked Firmin Edouard Matoko for the good reviews. According to Vu Thu Ha, his presence in Hanoi clearly demonstrated UNESCO's commitment to preserving Vietnam's heritage.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee stated that the goal of Hanoi's development strategy is to focus on developing Hanoi's culture on the basis of promoting the thousand-year-old tradition of civilization and heroism.
Hanoi continues to hold the title of City For Peace, absorbing the cultural quintessence of mankind, considering this as an endogenous strength, a great spiritual motivation for the sustainable development of the capital.
