The course took place from February 9 to May 25 with the participation of nearly 30 civil servants, officials, and employees of departments, associations, unions, agencies, and units of Da Nang. The course is sponsored by the Regional English Language Office of the US Embassy to Vietnam (referred to as RELO) and the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.
During 15 weeks, the students were guided by instructors from the United States and the University of Foreign Languages under the University of Da Nang on 10 topics, including communication and writing skills, which are suitable for their daily work. Based on their performances during the sessions and the results of the midterm and final exams, 19 students were granted certificates of completion.
This is the first course to be piloted online. On its foundation, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations and the city's Vietnam-American Friendship Association will work with RELO and the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to continue sponsoring more courses for the city in the near future.
