The Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange (VAVA) has worked with the national humanitarian portal to organise a program on sending charitable messages entitled “Joining hands to ease AO pain”.

VAVA launches charitable message program to support AO victims

The program aims to respond the movement “Act for Vietnamese AO victims” launched by the Vietnam Red Cross (VRC) and mark the Day for AO victims (August 10th).

By sending messages DACAM to 1409, the senders will be donating VND18,000 each to support the victims.

This is the 5th year the program has been carried out. In the four previous years (2011-2014), the program received 700,000 messages and collected over VND12 billion.

The activity holds great political, social and humanitarian significance, making practical contributions to assisting the lives of AO victims, building nursing and rehabilitation centres, giving vocational training, constructing charitable houses, and granting scholarships for the victims and their children.

This year, the program is being conducted from August 1st to September 30th./.
