Venezuela Admires Vietnam’s Developments in Science and Technology

On January 14, Vice President Jiménez Ramírez, who is in charge of science, technology, health, and education in Venezuela, had a cordial reception with Associate Professor Doctor Phan Tien Dung, Head of the Science Management Department, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), who is on a working visit to Venezuela.
At the meeting, Associate Professor Doctor Phan Tien Dung affirmed that throughout the Vietnamese revolutionary journey, science and technology have always accompanied the country and people and made great contributions to the resistance war and the renovation process. In the current context, along with the socio-economic development strategy, Vietnam has invested appropriately in building a science and technology development strategy.

Respectfully conveying the greetings and warm regards of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro to General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other leaders of the Party, State and Government of Vietnam, Vice President Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez expressed her joy at the meetings between leaders of the two countries, in the context of Venezuela-Vietnam celebrating the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (12/1989-12/2024).
Vice President Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez said that Venezuela and Vietnam are two developing countries, and besides the wise leadership of the two ruling parties, developing science and technology is the only way to help the country move forward.
Referring to the orientation for the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation issued by General Secretary To Lam, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez expressed her impression and appreciation for this strategic orientation of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

She hoped that Vietnam would share its experiences in the process of formulating policies and implementing this strategic orientation. She also suggested in the coming time, the two countries should consider promoting cooperation in the fields of science and technology, especially in areas where Vietnam has strengths such as biotechnology for agricultural development, information technology, and artificial intelligence.
Vice President Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez believes that with the determination of the two governments and the aspirations of the people of the two countries, Venezuela and Vietnam will have breakthroughs and new momentum in bilateral relations, contributing positively to the development of each country.
