Vietnam Airlines to increase 1,270 domestic flights during Tet

The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) has agreed on airlines’ plans to increase domestic flights during the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) to meet the growing demands of passengers.

The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) has agreed on airlines’ plans to increase domestic flights during the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) to meet the growing demands of passengers.

According to the plan, 380 flights with 76,758 seats will be added to Vietnam Airlines's flight schedule during the period January 16 - February 12, marking 6.3 percent increase compared to the usual schedule.

Meanwhile, the low-cost carrier Vietjet Air and Jetstar Pacific will increase 560 and 330 flights, providing an extra number of 100,800 seats and 59,400 seats, respectively.

In total, domestic flights will be increased by 1,270 during the Lunar New Year season 2017, which is equal to a growth of 8.5 percent compared to common schedule.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the travelling hub of Ho Chi Minh City is forecast to experience the highest number of arrival and departure flights with 1,065 extra flights, increasing by 7.7 percent compared to usual schedules. During peak time, the airport will serve 807 flights/day./.
