On November 16, Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Bui Van Nghi and his wife arrived in the capital Brasília, starting his term of office for the period 2023-2026.
Brazilian First Foreign Minister Maria Laura da Rocha warmly welcomed Ambassador Bui Van Nghi coming to Brazil to accept his assignment.
The Foreign Minister believes that the Ambassador will complete the assigned mission and contribute positively to the relationship between the two countries.
Maria Laura da Rocha affirmed that she will continue to support Vietnam and Ambassador Bui Van Nghi particularly to promote relations between the two countries in many fields and implement the policies set forth by the leaders of both sides, looking forward to the 35th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations in 2024.
Ambassador Bui Van Nghi expressed his honor to be appointed Ambassador of Vietnam to Brazil concurrently with Peru, Bolivia, Guyana and Suriname. The Ambassador said that this is both an honorable task and an important responsibility assigned by the Leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Bui Van Nghi affirmed that he and his colleagues will make efforts to contribute to strengthening the friendly relations and cooperation between Vietnam and Brazil to become more profound and effective, bringing the two countries' relations to new heights.
He will strive to utilize the full potential of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two peoples.
Ambassador Bui Van Nghi said that in 2024, Vietnam and Brazil will celebrate the 35th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations. Vietnam looks forward to welcoming President Lula da Silva to visit Vietnam. This is also the year Brazil hosts the G20. The Ambassador believes that Brazil will successfully organize this important event.
The two sides agreed to promote the effective implementation of bilateral cooperation plans, including plans to exchange delegations, especially high-level delegations, to strengthen cooperation in many fields from politics, and diplomacy, to trade, investment, labor, education, culture, health, science and technology, tourism, local cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges.
