The conference, themed "Effective Prosecution Service in the Technological Age," brought together approximately 140 representatives from 30 countries and territories, underscoring the global commitment to combating cybercrime and technological offenses.

At the event, Deputy Prosecutor General Nguyen Duy Giang highlighted Vietnam's pivotal role in international criminal justice cooperation, aligning with the country's Constitution and laws. He acknowledged the support of prosecutorial agencies in handling Vietnam's criminal justice assistance requests and discussed challenges in international legal cooperation. Giang proposed solutions to enhance mutual legal assistance, focusing on combating transnational organized crime and cybercrimes.

During his visit, Giang held talks with Secretary for Justice Paul Lam. They agreed that strengthening legal and judicial cooperation would provide a solid foundation for socio-economic cooperation. Both sides decided to explore negotiations for a criminal justice assistance agreement to enhance efforts against cross-border, transnational crimes, cybercrime, and financial offenses. They also agreed to boost cooperation in prosecutorial exchange, and professional training, and enhance the capacity of Vietnamese prosecutors.
