The Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei will continue to play the role of a bridge between the two nations and support cooperation activities between the UBD and the FPT University and other Vietnamese training and research institutions. The Embassy hopes that there are more and more Vietnamese students studying in Brunei and Brunei students studying in Vietnam in the upcoming time.

On behalf of the UBD, Deputy Director of the Language Center Liyana Putri Abd Ghani expressed her impression of being able to learn and discover the long-standing culture imbued with the national identity of Vietnam. Liyana said that the UBD has focused on developing the Vietnamese language, affirming that learning Vietnamese would not only help students gain more cultural knowledge, and have more job opportunities but also contribute to the cultural exchange activities between the two countries. Liyana highly appreciated the program "Discovering Vietnam: Hue Royal Culinary Arts" for providing useful information, and greatly supporting the Vietnamese language learning of UBD students.

Within the framework of the program, the Embassy introduced to the participants about Hue royal culinary art, whose highlight is the spring rolls dish cooked and introduced by chef Tran Duc Long, a national artisan and member of the Vietnam Royal Chef Association.

Sharing their feelings at the event, many UBD students said that they are very interested in learning Vietnamese and learning about Vietnamese culture. They look forward to having the opportunity to shortly visit Vietnam.

According to Dr. Tran Trong Nghia, lecturer at Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City, a lecturer in Vietnamese at the UBD, and a member of the Community Liaison Committee in Brunei, Vietnamese is the only foreign language in Southeast Asia taught at the UBD and for three semesters so far. He hoped that the Embassy would continue to pay attention to promote cooperation with the UBD, develop the establishment of Vietnamese cultural corners at universities in Brunei, and encourage Bruneian students to study in Vietnam.
