(VNF) - The 11- athlete delegation from Vietnam are competing at the 7th Asian Carom 3-cushion championship in Seoul (Republic of Korea) from January 19th-23rd.

The best Vietnamese players include Tran Quyet Chien, Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, Duong Anh Vu, Ma Xuan Cuong and Ngo Dinh Nai, will joint with six other members from Ho Chi Minh city, Binh Duong and Soc Trang provinces, among other rivals from host Korea and Japan.

In the 1/16 round, there was a “civil war” between Vietnamese athletes including Ly The Vinh with Ma Xuan Cuong, Nguyen Quoc Nguyen with Do Nguyen Trung Hau, and the most interesting game between Tran Quyet Chien and Ma Minh Cam. They are the cue masters in the Carom event, as well as teammates in the national and Ho Chi Minh city teams In during the recent National Sports Games 2014, held in Nam Dinh city, where they won gold medals.

On the other events, Duong Anh Vu met Japanese rival Mori, Le Huu Tinh played with Kim Hyung Kon from the Republic of Korea, Ngo Dinh Nai met Sakai from Japan, Vuong Minh Thien met Lee Choong Bok from the Republic of Korea, while Nguyen Duy Trung competed with Tanabe from Japan. Windows are open to all athletes for the next rounds.

The annual Asian carom 3-cushion championship is part of a billarad system, gathering the best cueists in Asia. This year’s event is a good chance to select the best ones for the World Cup carom 3-cushion championships. In the last 6th event, Vietnam ranked 3rd
