Vietnam Culture Week Takes Place in Cambodia
As part of the activities marking the 55th anniversary of Vietnam – Cambodia diplomatic relations, the Vietnam Culture Week in Cambodia 2022 will be held from August 10-14 in the capital Phnom Penh and Siem Reap city.

Vietnam Culture Week in Cambodia in 2022 has an important meaning in the implementation of the agreements of the two countries' senior leaders and the cultural cooperation plan between Vietnam and Cambodia for the period of 2018-2022.
The cultural programs of the two countries are held regularly, which is very important in enhancing solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding, contributing to the socio-economic development of each country.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong emphasized: “Through this event, Vietnam wishes to introduce to the Cambodian people and international friends the beauty of Vietnamese culture through art performances, Vietnamese folk music and dance, and three-way dance. classical pears, a photo exhibition on Vietnamese culture and education, and an introduction of world heritage sites in Vietnam that have been registered by UNESCO,".

On behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Cambodian Minister of Culture and Arts Phoeurng Sackona congratulated Vietnam Culture Week 2022. He said: “I believe that the Vietnam Culture Week and the art performance program jointly performed by Vietnamese and Cambodian artists tonight will help the people of the two countries understand each other better, contributing to strengthening and promoting the relationship between the two countries. The close relationship between the two brotherly neighbors has been raised to a higher level,".
The opening ceremony of Vietnam Culture Week at Chaktomuk Theater was followed by a special art program, with the performance of many singers, and dance troupes of the two countries.

On the same day, the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Cultural-Educational Exhibition in Cambodia was held with the theme "Cultural heritage and human development".
The exhibition introduces more than 50 photos about Vietnam's natural heritages, and tangible and intangible cultural heritages, some of them are recognized on the World Heritage List.
For the first time, Vietnamese higher education institutions participated in an exhibition introducing Vietnamese education, including Vietnam's education policies for Cambodian students.
The exhibition's goal is to introduce to Cambodian and international viewers the rich cultural identity of Vietnam, as a country with dynamic development, tourism and investment potential, and sports development prospects.

At the meeting between Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong and Cambodian Minister of Culture and Arts Phouerng Sackona on August 10, the two sides informed each other about programs and activities to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia and to celebrate the Vietnam-Cambodia and Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Year 2022.
Minister Phoeurng Sackona thanked the Government and people of Vietnam for always supporting and helping Cambodia in the cause of national construction and development in general and in the field of culture and art in particular.
Regarding bilateral cooperation, Minister Phoeurng Sackona suggested that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam continue to pay attention to and grant scholarships in the field of cinema and circus training for the Cambodian side; to bring artifacts related to Vietnamese culture to be displayed in Cambodian museums and to support the Cambodian traditional martial arts records to be recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage.
