Vietnam Film Day, photo exhibition about Vietnam’s sea and islands organized in Italy

The Vietnam Film Day and a photo exhibition about Vietnam’s sea and islands opened in Italy’s capital of Rome on April 21st, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Southern liberation and National reunification day.

The Vietnam Film Day and a photo exhibition about Vietnam’s sea and islands opened in Italy’s capital of Rome on April 21st, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Southern liberation and National reunification day.

Six classic films from the Vietnamese Revolutionary Cinema genre including "Teacher Hanh" (1966), "Cu Chi Guerrilla" (1967), "General Offensive at the Lunar New Year of the Monkey" (1969), "Road to battle" (1969), "The people in my country" (1971) and "Hanoi child" (1974) were all screened at the event.

In addition to the main features, 30 photos about Vietnam’s sea and islands by Gian Thanh Son, are being exhibited at the Italian Cinema House in the hope of bringing new perspectives about the beautiful and united Vietnam to Italian friends.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy, Nguyen Hoang Long said that the valuable films would help Italian friends in particular and international friends in general understand more about the country and people of Vietnam.

He also thanked Italian partners for the organization of the meaningful event and thanked the Italian people’s support for Vietnam in the past, the present and future.

Director of Italian Cinema House Giorgio Gosetti said that the film month about the war in Vietnam was to review the bravery and heroism of the people of Vietnam, as well as to demonstrate the solidarity and friendship of a generation of Vietnamese at that time to Italians and international friends as well as to help everyone better understand the people and the country in the present.

This is the first time the precious films have been widely screened in Italy and with the combination of historical films about of the resistance of the people and the perfect photos of Vietnam’s beautiful sea and islands helped our Italian friends have a much better understanding about the country, the nation and not just the war.

The event is one of activities of the film month about the war in Vietnam, starting from March 31st to April 30th.

In addition, the organizers will screen the films in other cities of Italy such as Milan, Cagliari, Napoli./.
