A delegation from the Vietnam - France Friendship and Cooperation Association (AACVF) led by Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, former Health Minister of Vietnam and AACVF honorary president, paid a working visit to France from October 6 - 10 to seek stronger cooperation between the two countries in the fields of health care and pharmaceuticals, VNA reported.
Tien and Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang, together with leaders of the Vietnam Vaccine JSC (VNVC), visited Sanofi Group's vaccine manufacturing plant, where they discussed cooperation in producing some Sanofi vaccines at the VNVC factory in Vietnam.

VNVC Chairman and CEO Ngo Chi Dung said that his company plans to build a vaccine and biologicals factory using cutting-edge technology and complying with the EU Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards in Long An province. It prioritizes cooperation with Sanofi towards manufacturing vaccines in Vietnam.
Tien, who is also a vaccine expert, said that the discussions demonstrate the rise of Vietnam's science sector and businesses in mastering advanced technologies and techniques for vaccine research and production. This will help Vietnam ensure the self-sufficiency of vaccines in the future and reduce dependence on imports.
Ambassador Thang hailed the partnership between the VNVC and Sanofi, describing it as a continuation of the two countries' cooperation, especially in health care and vaccine production.

The VNVC and Sanofi on October 8 signed a document guiding the cooperation in manufacturing some vaccines of the French pharmaceutical group in the Southeast Asian country.
Accordingly, Sanofi will broadly share its knowledge and expertise on biotechnology with the Vietnamese partner to create conditions for gradually manufacturing essential vaccines at the VNVC factory in Vietnam.
Speaking to the VNA, AACVF Honorary President Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, described this as a memorable event in the field of vaccine production of Vietnam. It reflects efforts by the country’s science sector and enterprises in mastering advanced technologies and techniques for vaccine research and manufacturing, helping the country guarantee vaccine self-sufficiency in the future.

During the working program in France, the AACFV delegation had a working session with the Pasteur Institute in Paris with the aim of reconnecting and promoting cooperation projects between the Pasteur Institute and Vietnamese research institutes in the fields of medicine and public health care; and discussed with the France-Vietnam Medical Federation (Fédération Santé France Vietnam - FSFV) about future cooperation directions between French and Vietnamese medical associations.
The delegation also had a working session with the Vietnamese Embassy in France, reporting the results of the visit as well as the future cooperation orientation of the association with partners in France, promoting the role of people's diplomacy in cooperation between the two countries in the fields of medicine and public health care.
Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang welcomed the trip, and expressed his hope that AACFV would promote its role and further strengthen people's diplomacy in the context of the two countries' relationship having a new development momentum after the official visit to France by General Secretary and State President To Lam.

On the occassion, the delegation, the Association of Vietnamese Youth and Students in France (UEVF), and representatives of FPT Software in the European country jointly held a seminar on Vietnamese youth's startups, during which participants shared their experience in launching new companies, difficulties facing them, and ways to navigate challenges.
Prof. Nguyen Lan Trung, chairman of the Hanoi's Vietnam - France Friendship Association and AACVF Vice President, said that the sound traditional friendship and partnership between the two countries over the past 50 years is a favourable condition for the two sides to promote bilateral relations.
The AACVF's activities aim to help carry out cooperation between the two countries and open up market opportunities for businesses from both nations, Trung stated.
