Nearly 500,000 Doses of "5 in 1" Vaccine Provided by Australian Government

At the ceremony, Vietnamese Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan said that 490,600 doses of "5 in 1" Vaccines are promptly supported from the Australian Government for the expanded immunization program. This is an extremely valuable and necessary gift to deploy vaccination for children in the near future.

Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan requested the Directors of Health Departments of localities to direct the allocation and organization of vaccination for the right subjects and effectively."When the above quantity of vaccines is handed over, the Ministry of Health and related units will act decisively and quickly to bring the vaccines to localities as soon as possible, in order to vaccinate children effectively," said Minister Lan.
Also at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Duong Thi Hong, Deputy Director of the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, noted that vaccines will be provided to 63 provinces and cities and priority will be given to children who have not yet received the first dose of “5 in 1” vaccine. specifically, priority will be given to children with the youngest age group of 2 months old, then older children, including children over 12 months old. At the same time, the authority will re-vaccinate the 2nd and 3rd doses for children who have not received 3 doses of the "5 in 1" vaccines, including children over 12 months old.
It is expected that in the last week of December 2023, subjected children will be vaccinated. Currently, on average each month, expanded vaccination sites can carry out about 200,000 doses. Therefore, with the number of vaccines donated by the Australian Government, it is expected to be administered within a period of 2.5 months.
Previously, as Hanoi Moi Newspaper reported, in July 2023, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) provided the Ministry of Health with 185,700 doses of DTP-HepB-Hib vaccine to Overcome the decline in vaccination rates and the lack of "5-in-1" vaccines.
