Vietnam, Japan Celebrate a Half-Century of Diplomatic Relations
On October 5, the Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City Watanabe Nobuhiro had an online working session to discuss activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023) with the Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association in the southern provinces.

At the meeting, Watanabe Nobuhiro, the consul general of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, and other attendees discussed plans for programs and celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. As well as brief information on the event's preparations, the commemorative logo, and material linked to the Japanese side's acknowledgment of the program to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic ties between Japan and Vietnam.
At the same time, he stated his desire for initiatives that support mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and Vietnam in a variety of areas, including as culture, the arts, sports, education, tourism, the economy, and science, to continue to be broadly received. The list of programs that have been designated as commemorating the 50th anniversary will be updated by the organizers, and these events may use the 50th-anniversary emblem.
The Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association and the Union of Friendship Organizations leaders from provinces and cities including Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Kien Giang, Can Tho, and Ho Chi Minh City met to discuss plans for organizing regional programs and events in honor of the 50th anniversary of the start of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
