Ha Long Bay is one of the popular tourist spots in Vietnam, situated around 165 km away from Hanoi. What makes the bay an interesting spot to visit is that it consists of a dense cluster of 1969 limestone monolithic islands, which are capped with thick jungle vegetation, and have risen literally from the ocean.

An official in the know-how, referring in this development, said that a waste-water management has also been set up to deal with the sewage that are been spewed out of the cruise ships daily. He also stated that in order to ensure that the environment in and around Ha Long Bay is clean and green, the authorities are also launching various programs. With the boom in tourism, environmental concerns are the obvious after effects, and it is likely that this new move will help both tourists and environment at the same time.
