Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Doan Khanh Tam on Oct. 7 had a meeting with General Secretary of the Mongolian People's Party D.Amarbayasgalan to discuss a number of measures to promote relations and cooperation. between the two parties and the two countries.

At the meeting, Tam congratulated the achievements that the Mongolian People's Party has achieved during its history of construction and development over the past 100 years and became the ruling party receiving high trust today in Mongolia.

The ambassador informed a number of main contents of the results of the 13th Party Congress, directions, tasks, socio-economic development strategy and foreign policy; affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always attach great importance to the development of cooperation relations with with the People's Party, State and people of Mongolia.

At the same time, he hoped that the two sides would continue to strengthen exchanges, contacts and effective coordination at regional and international forums, multilateral political parties, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

The Vietnamese diplomat pledged to make every effort to take relations between the two countries in all aspects to a new height in the spirit of the Memorandum of Understanding on strengthening cooperation between the two parties signed in 2019.

For his part, General Secretary of the Mongolian People's Party D.Amarbayasgalan congratulated Vietnam on successfully organizing the 13th Party Congress, believing that the Party, State and people of Vietnam will successfully implement the goals and tasks of socio-economic development as well as responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Regarding relations and cooperation, D.Amarbayasgalan affirmed that developing relations and cooperation with the Party, State and people of Vietnam is a priority focus in the foreign policy of the Mongolian People's Party. He hoped that the two sides would continue to strengthen and pay attention to promoting practical cooperation, especially in potential areas such as economy, trade, tourism and investment, in line with the existing potentials and advantages of the two countries.

The two sides agreed on a number of priority measures in the immediate future to promote relations and cooperation on the Party and State channels and people-to-people exchanges, including priority to open direct flights, transit transport, and more tourism and agricultural cooperations.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Mongolian People's Party, Secretary General D.Amarbaysgalan extended friendly greetings and invite the leaders of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam to visit Mongolia in the near future.

Vietnam and Mongolia set up the diplomatic ties on November 17, 1954.

About 200 Vietnamese people are living, studying and working in Mongolia at present.

Earlier, the Vietnamese community raised a fund of over MNT 10 million (about USD 3,500) to help Mongolia fight the pandemic that is developing complicatedly in the country. The aid has made local headlines and applauded by Mongolian people.

Deputy Prime Minister and head of the State Emergency Commission of Mongolia S. Amarsaikhan has thanked the Vietnamese community in the country for their support.

In the thank-you letter, the Deputy PM affirmed that the gifts from the Vietnamese community have served as a great source of encouragement for forces who are working on the frontline of the pandemic combat in Mongolia, according to the Vietnamese Embassy in the country.
