The event, co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attracted leaders from numerous countries, international organizations, CEOs from major technology companies like Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI, and leading experts in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
At the conference, 60 countries signed the AI Paris Declaration, advocating for the promotion of global AI governance to ensure the technology develops transparently, equitably, and sustainably.
Vietnam's participation in the conference underscores its strong commitment to integrating AI into socio-economic development and opens up numerous opportunities for collaboration with international partners. This event marks a shift from discussions about AI safety to concrete actions, focusing on five main topics, including AI for the public good, employment, investment, ethics, and regulation.
In addition, Vietnam's participation in the conference not only demonstrates its commitment to developing AI but also opens up opportunities for cooperation, learning, and applying AI to socio-economic development in the country.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Bui Hoang Phuong led the Vietnamese delegation at the AI Action Summit in Paris, France. |
Speaking on the national television channel France 2, French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized, "We are living in a rare technological and scientific revolution. AI can help us live better, learn better, work better, and take better care of our health. It is important that we build a trustworthy AI governance framework, helping AI serve people instead of just serving the interests of a small group."
The French President also called on Europe to accelerate the pace of AI development to avoid falling behind technological powers, while emphasizing the need for a clear roadmap of action to attract talent and promote sustainable AI development.
One of the important initiatives at the conference is "Current AI" - a Global Public-Private Partnership to support large-scale AI projects that serve the public interest. In addition, the parties emphasized the importance of limiting the concentration of power in a few technology corporations, ensuring that AI is more accessible to developing countries.
This conference is an opportunity for Vietnam to access the latest development trends of AI while promoting policies and strategies to effectively apply AI in important areas such as healthcare, education, and the digital economy. It also offers Vietnam a chance to affirm its active role in the international AI community, towards a sustainable and humane AI future.
