Ministries and branches make efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
From commitments at COP26, ministries have been organizing and developing plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Specifically, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment completed and published the report on offshore wind and wave energy potential in coastal areas to serve the development of renewable energy and wind power projects.
The Ministry completed and submitted to the Government a Decree amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 40/2016/ND-CP and Decree No. 11/2021/ND-CP regulating the allocation of marine areas to organizations, and individuals to utilize and use marine resources.

It includes emission reduction targets for each sector and climate change adaptation with implementation measures.
The Ministry coordinated with the Ministry of Finance to complete the project to develop the carbon market in Vietnam, and worked with ministries and branches to complete a project implementing the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) Declaration.
For agriculture, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development developed and issued a plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (including methanol gas) in the agricultural and rural development sector for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050.

Enterprises participating in green transformation
Recently, many state-owned corporations have taken actions to accompany the government, implementing research and gradually reducing fossil energy sources, and greenhouse gas emissions.
Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) reviewed and proposed amendments to legal documents. They updated and supplemented policy mechanisms, strategies, and development plans of each industry and field in accordance with the commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Group developed plans to control the demand for coal exploitation and use and implemented clean energy conversion goals according to a roadmap consistent with the commitments.
Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) brought to the market petroleum products with low emission standards and biofuels.
They participate in the energy infrastructure market for electric vehicles (by the end of 2022, they coordinated with Vinfast to install 100 electric charging stations at Petrolimex gas stations).
Petrolimex organized strategic research into new product lines such as hydrogen and eFuels to partially replace fossil fuels in the future.
