Vietnam Receives More Than 160,000 Japanese Visitors in the First Four Months of 2023.

The Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance delegation and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism met on May 8 for a working session, during which information was gathered. Expressing his impression toward the number of tourists exchanging between Vietnam and Japan after the pandemic, Nikai Toshihiro, President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Union, hopes that There will be more exchange and promotion activities so that the number of visitors can recover as before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nikai Toshihiro reaffirmed that the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance would continue to serve as a link, advancing the deepening and well-established collaboration in culture, sports, and tourism between Vietnam and Japan.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung noted during the meeting that the Vietnam-Japan cooperation partnership has advanced significantly over the past 50 years as a result of the efforts made. Particularly, collaboration in the areas of sport, culture, and tourism has left many lasting impacts

Both Vietnamese Culture Week in Japan and Japanese Culture Week in Vietnam were successful events that left a lasting impression on the people. The Vietnamese and Japanese symphony orchestras have performed numerous concerts in each nation, helping to satisfy the requirements of the populace to enjoy art. The citizens of the two nations have greater possibilities to learn more about the culture, nation, and people of your country thanks to these yearly events

In terms of tourism, Minister Nguyen Van Hung stated that when the Covid-19 outbreak was contained, Vietnam and Japan quickly began marketing and advertising to boost the number of visitors entering and exiting the country. There were over 160k Japanese tourists to Vietnam in only the first four months of 2023. Similar numbers of Vietnamese travelers arrived in Japan, totaling roughly 170,000.

Many Vietnamese people, according to the Minister, are eager to visit Japan. The Minister hoped that after this trip, Nikai Toshihiro would have recommendations and proposals to the Government and National Assembly of Japan for streamlined visa application procedures for Vietnamese tourists in particular and other countries in general. Japan is trying to implement many solutions to welcome international visitors.

At the meeting, the two nations also agreed to meet and discuss cooperation issues in July 2023, on the occasion of the visit of Wakayama provincial authorities to Hanoi.
