Vietnam-RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Further Promoted
At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tung said that after 30 years of establishment of Vietnam - RoK diplomatic relations, both countries have made great progress with important milestones, upgrading from the comprehensive partnership in 2001 to strategic partnership in 2009 and comprehensive strategic partnership in 2022 .
Leaders of the two countries officially signed and upgraded the bilateral relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership at the end of 2022. This is a historic milestone, opening a new, stronger and more substantive period of development for the relationship between Vietnam – RoK .
Vietnam and RoK have become each other's most important partners in many fields. In particular, cooperation in economics, trade and investment is both the pillar and the driving force to promote cooperation between the two countries.
In the spirit of comprehensive strategic partnership and the issues the leaders of the two countries have discussed and agreed upon, the Ambassador also shared some major directions to promote bilateral relations in the coming time.

Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tung expressed his confidence that with the support and companionship of the VKBIA with the Embassy in recent years, there have been very positive contributions in many specific fields, bringing about numerous encouraging results.
Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tung asked the VKBIA to continue accompanying the Embassy in the coming time and continue to strengthen coordination with specialized units such as the Investment Department, Office of Science and Technology, Labor Management Board, Trade Department to carry out more effective operational programs, contributing to promoting the Vietnam - RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The Ambassador also asked the VKBIA Association to continue to maintain many effective activities in recent times, such as supporting cooperation between localities of Vietnam and RoK, conducting activities towards the Fatherland such as accompanying the country in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic, supporting the sovereignty of Vietnam's seas and islands, supporting people in difficult circumstances and activities to support and develop the Vietnamese community in Korea .
At the meeting, Tran Hai Linh, Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the VKBIA, talked about the signing of the “Comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement on investment, research and promotion of construction of traditional villages, ecological urban areas, smart cities with self-reliant energy - carbon neutrality, low carbon emission growth in some localities in Vietnam" amongst the authority of Naju city, Jeollanamdo Provincial Technology Park, Dongshin University and VKBIA on November 23.
Before this meeting, VKBIA delegation also had a working session with leaders of the Korean Institute of Industrial Technology and visited in-depth research facilities under this Institute, which is a unit affiliated with the Korean government.
The two sides discussed a number of cooperation directions in the coming time in 3 main areas including original industrial technology, clean production system technology, and industrial convergence technology. Both sides agreed to focus on in-depth cooperation on green industry, green energy, smart mobility and semiconductor technology.

VKBIA President Tran Hai Linh also affirmed that, as a bridge to connect both countries in investment, economics, trade, science and technology, tourism, culture, and education, VKBIA will make their best efforts to promote people-to-people diplomacy and enhance the effectiveness and substance of cooperation activities between localities, agencies, organizations and businesses between Vietnam - RoK.
In addition, the Association will continue to coordinate and accompany the Embassy and competent agencies in specific activities, to strengthen and promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tung awarded Certificates of Merit to the VKBIA Association and 5 individuals for their great contributions in promoting economic and investment cooperation between Vietnam and RoK in the period 2021-2023.
