From the beginning of May 2022, the delegation of the Asia-Pacific Tourism Association (PATA) passed through Cham Yeam International Border Gate (Koh Kong Province, Cambodia) to Trat province (Thailand) and then went to Bangkok to attend the Conference on Trade and Tourism Exchange between Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam from May 5 to 6,.

The purpose of the trip is to learn the route as well as complete on paper the travel through the border gates of both Cambodia and Thailand.

In April 2022 alone, 13,365 international visitors visited Angkor Wat.
According to the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia, the number of tourists to Angkor Wat has increased again thanks to Cambodia's full opening to visitors who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Currently, Angkor Wat welcomes about 400 foreign tourists to visit each day, compared with the corresponding 70 visitors/day during the two years of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vietnam's tourism public and private sectors also wish to strengthen cooperation with PATA. In particular, the Vietnamese delegation joined a bilateral meeting with PATA earlier this year.
On Jan 18, 2022, at the Sokha Beach Resort hotel (Cambodia), on the sidelines of the 2022 ASEAN Tourism Forum in Sihanoukville (Cambodia), Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet had a bilateral meeting with the Executive Director of PATA - Liz Ortiguera.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed the direction of cooperation in the coming time, as well as PATA's support for Vietnam's tourism industry to recover and develop after the effects of the pandemic.
Deputy Minister Doan Van Viet pledged that Vietnam will continue to cooperate closely with PATA, actively participate in activities organized by PATA and hope that PATA will be a bridge between Vietnam's tourism and tourism of other countries to promote Vietnam's tourism to the world; so that tourists have more interest in Vietnam and ASEAN.
The Vietnamese diplomat also wished to strengthen the relationship with PATA through human resource training activities and programs.
