Thai Ambassador to Vietnam Nikorndej Balankura presided over the planting ceremony of a white magnolia tree in front of the Buddha shrine at Phap Van Pagoda.
The event was held to celebrate World Soil Day and in commemoration of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej, whose birthday is on December 5. King Bhumibol Adulyadej is known for his research on solutions for soil and land resource problems.
On this occasion, the Ambassador awarded VND 25 million, donated by Thai individuals, to repair and repaint the Buddha statue at Phap Van Pagoda.
The Thai Embassy hopes that this activity will contribute to promoting the building of a green society, sustainable development, and promoting the Buddhist connection between Thailand and Vietnam.
