As part of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to the Middle East, and to promote the deployment and recruitment of Vietnamese workers to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Department of Overseas Labor (Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs) directed the Vietnam Labor Management Board in the UAE to collaborate with relevant agencies of the host country in organizing a bilateral business dialogue forum on labor cooperation on the afternoon of October 28th.

The forum was participated by major UAE conglomerates and enterprises, as well as long-standing Vietnamese labor-sending companies operating in the Middle East market .
At the Forum, businesses from both sides exchanged views and reached agreements on specific matters such as labor demand, types of labor to be recruited, requirements for workers (including foreign language proficiency, skills, and experience), working conditions, wages and benefits, labor management during employment in the UAE, the capacity of Vietnamese enterprises to supply labor, and other mutual concerns.
In attendance and encouraging businesses from both sides, Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung expressed his joy and appreciation for the cooperation and connection efforts of businesses from both countries in recent times. He emphasized the significance of the Forum, highlighting its open and inclusive nature, held on the sidelines of high-level meetings between Vietnamese and UAE leaders.

Providing an overview of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung highlighted the UAE's significant role as one of Vietnam's key economic partners in the Middle East. With a rapidly developing economy, the UAE is at the forefront of various sectors, including digital transformation, green transition, circular economy, sharing economy, and artificial intelligence.
"This is a potential market where workers in general, Vietnamese workers in particular, can seize the opportunity to work, study, acquire highly specialized skills and knowledge to improve and develop themselves, and have a high income in the future," said the Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung emphasized that the state management agencies of both sides are always ready to accompany businesses. They create the most favorable conditions possible for businesses on both sides to connect, cooperate and develop, minimizing administrative procedures related to sending and receiving workers, in accordance with the actual situation and conditions of each side. This contributes to the overall success of the economic cooperation relationship between the two countries.
In his bilateral meeting with UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization Abdulrahman Abdulmannan Al-Awar, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung highlighted the complementary nature of the two countries' labor markets. While the UAE has a significant demand for labor, Vietnam has a large and skilled workforce. However, the number of Vietnamese workers in the UAE has yet to reach its full potential.
According to the Vietnamese Embassy in the UAE, there are currently about 4,500 Vietnamese workers living and working in the UAE. Vietnamese workers there are mainly employed in construction, mechanics, restaurants, hotels, and beauty services. Of this number, approximately 3,000 workers were sent through labor export companies. |
