Vietnam-UK Exchange Experience in Craniocerebral, Maxillofacial and Pediatric Surgery
Accordingly, the three hospitals received accreditation from RCS, became its members, and participated in technology transfer, training, and exchange of doctors, especially in the field of craniofacial, maxillofacial, and pediatrics.
The MoU signing ceremony between RCS, Facing The World and Central Military Hospital 108, Viet Duc Hospital & Hong Ngoc Hospital in Hanoi on April 27. |
In his remarks, British Ambassador to Vietnam Ian Frew said the MoU signing aimed to support doctors in developing their skills, towards the ultimate goal of helping children with facial deformities.
According to Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, this is a meaningful activity on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United Kingdom (September 11, 1973 - September 11, 2023).
Evaluating the cooperation program, Nguyen Hong Ha, Head of the Orthopaedic Surgery Department, Viet Duc Hospital, said: "Cooperating with the UK is an opportunity for us to learn about their approach. The RCS has a team of plastic surgeons, otolaryngologists, eye surgeons, neurosurgeons, and anaesthesiologists coming here to do surgery. So they can all do it at once without having it done many times separately so it saves us a lot of time compared to the old way of doing it."
The signing ceremony took place under the coordination of Facing the World, which has carried out many projects in Vietnam over the past 15 years, helping thousands of children with craniofacial deformities by providing charity operations, training doctors, and donating medical equipment.
On this occasion, Facing the World and Katrin Kandel, Voluntary CEO of Facing The World received the Certificate of Merit and Medal for the People's Health of Vietnam awarded by the Ministry of Health.
