The third congress of the Vietnam-Ukraine Friendship Association, Hanoi branch for the 2017-2022 tenure opened in Hanoi on September 9 by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations and the Vietnam-Ukraine Friendship Association, Hanoi branch.

Delegates elected 18 members to the Executive Committee of the association in the 2017-2022 tenure with Tran Thanh Binh, former Director of the Institute of School Design and Research, elected as Chairman of the association.

Can Viet Anh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Ukraine Friendship Association, Hanoi branch appreciated significant activities by the association which have contributed to boosting bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Vietnam-Ukraine Friendship Association, Hanoi branch was established in March 2007 with hundreds of members working in various sectors and areas.

During the past tenure in 2012-2017, the association has in participated and organised many activities including the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run tournament, the run competition for children, a discussion about the East Sea issues, and celebrations of the 25th anniversary of Ukraine National Day, among others.

In the next tenure, the association will continue to act as a bridge to boost bilateral cooperation in the areas of economics, trade, tourism, culture, sports, and others.
