Speaking at the exhibition, Uruguayan Ambassador to Vietnam Raúl Juan Pollak Giampietro said the event aims to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Uruguay (1993-2023). Despite the geographical distance, the people of the two countries are close and have warm affection for each other. Through the exhibition, Vietnamese artists, lecturers, and students are introduced to a new art scene, thereby becoming more connected to Uruguay.
According to the Vice Principal in charge of Vietnam University of Fine Arts Dang Thi Phong Lan, this is a meaningful event for the university, an opportunity for Vietnamese lecturers, artists, and students to learn about Uruguayan culture and art. To create artwork, 10 excellent students from the Department of Painting, Vietnam University of Fine Arts participated in hands-on sessions in Yandi Monardo's workshop, where students learn and apply new drawing techniques to create their own works, and talk about ideas and future plans. Thereby, they could learn creative techniques and talk about art with artist Yandi Monardo and his colleagues.

Yandi Monardo's project has been carried out in many countries. When bringing the project to Vietnam, he was impressed with the Vietnamese artists' excitement and amusement when introduced to his creative techniques. Vietnamese and Uruguayan art have many similarities in the use of colors and a high spirit of solidarity between artists at art galleries. "Every feeling that I have in Vietnam brings inspiration. My favorite tourist destination is Sa Pa, where I could walk around with the ethnic people. My favorite dish is pho - I can eat pho every morning. Vietnamese coffee is great, too." he said.
Nguyen Thi Nhien, a Vietnam University of Fine Arts student who participated in Yandi Monardo's workshop, said: "During the workshop, we learned a new and liberal style and how to use powder and acrylic paint to create artworks, which I haven't been taught at the university. We were super excited. I think I will use this new technique a lot to create artworks that expresses my own personality."
