The Deputy Prime Minister expressed great appreciation for the visit by the MEDEF delegation to Vietnam, noting that this was the first working session between Vietnamese and French senior leaders to implement the outcomes of General Secretary and President To Lam's visit to France in October 2024. This visit highlights the urgency, practicality, and specificity needed to advance economic cooperation within the Vietnam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the historical relationship between Vietnam and France, despite its many ups and downs, is progressively developing on a positive trajectory, grounded in shared cultural, architectural, educational, and scientific values, as well as mutual development goals.
He hopes that following this visit, enterprises in the MEDEF delegation will identify key investment cooperation fields and projects that align with Vietnam's needs and strengths. "In addition to the inherent need for cooperation, businesses from both countries should establish mechanisms for regular meetings and exchanges to advance cooperation plans at each stage, in the spirit of a comprehensive strategic partnership," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
He addressed recommendations from enterprises regarding selecting investors for oil and gas exploration and exploitation, mobilizing green financial resources, transferring technology, implementing energy transition projects, developing nuclear power, and capturing and neutralizing carbon at thermal power plants and high-emission economic sectors.
French enterprises are invited to explore opportunities in infrastructure projects, such as airport management and operations, planning and constructing multimodal urban transport, developing high-speed and urban railways, and consulting on the development of technical standards, regulations, and unified management tools. Vietnam also welcomes French investment in low-carbon agriculture, post-harvest processing and handling of agricultural products, and modernizing healthcare management models.

The Deputy Prime Minister tasked the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Ministry of Construction with working directly with each enterprise, connecting them with Vietnamese enterprises and localities for specific projects.
"All cooperation projects between the two sides must be based on the foundations of human resource development, technology transfer, joint investment in digital transformation, green transformation, education, and training, in the spirit of trust, mutual benefits, and shared risks," stated the Deputy Prime Minister.
French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet and Francois Corbin, Special Representative of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and Vice President of MEDEF, stated that French enterprises are seeking investment opportunities in Vietnam across several sectors, including renewable energy, nuclear power, high-speed and urban railways, strategic minerals, education, healthcare, and food. Many French enterprises are not only interested in production and business projects but also in supporting Vietnam's efforts to build and improve institutions, research and transfer technology, and train human resources.
