Vietnam wins first prize at World Puppet Carnival
The puppet art troupe from Vietnam Puppet Theatre, representing Vietnam at the 8th World Puppet Carnival in Yekaterinburg, Russia, has won the first prize and the Best Puppet Design prize.

The second and third prizes went to a French art troupe and a Thailand art troupe, respectively.
The 8th World Puppet Carnival took place from August 12 to 18.
First launched in 2012, this year's event attracted the participation of delegations from 30 countries with more than 40 performances in all types of puppetry. The Vietnam Puppetry Theatre executed two performances in the water puppet show and puppet show.

The Vietnam Puppet Theater Association spent time to organise many performances serving overseas Vietnamese in the cities of Yekaterinburg and Moscow.
According to Ngo Thanh Thuy, director of Vietnam Puppet Theatre, delegates from the other countries highly appreciated the performances of the Vietnamese art troupe at the festival.
Participation in the festival also helped the Vietnam Puppetry Theatre to exchange and learn experiences, from which there are many creative innovations to make the performances of the theatre better, she said.
On the occasion, the Vietnam Puppet Theater Association spent time to organise many performances serving overseas Vietnamese in the cities of Yekaterinburg and Moscow.
The Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre has a 60-year-long history of development, housing a significant number of leading puppetry researchers, directors, visual artists, fine art decorators and puppet performers./.
