Vietnamese and Cambodian navy forces conduct joint patrol
From September 27th-28th, the Vietnam People's Navy Zone 5 worked with the Royal Cambodian Navy on conducting a joint patrol for the 44th time.
During the patrol, the two sides worked together to prevent illegal activities in jointly patrolled areas; protect the maritime environment; exchange contact; prevent smuggling activities, drug transport, illegal immigration, trade and transport of weapons and explosives; prevent and repress piracy; and carry out search and rescue work at sea.
Despite hard weather conditions, the patrol was conducted successfully, thus deepening the traditional relationship, comprehensive cooperation, mutual trust and understanding between the two navy forces, contributing to maintaining the peaceful environment, stable political security and social order in bordering maritime areas between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Between August, 2015 and August, 2016, the two navy forces organised 4 joint patrols, from the 40th to the 43rd, which helped to increase the ability of training and patrol at sea of the two forces, making contribution to building peaceful and stable sea areas for cooperation and development./.
