Ha Giang province shares a 277km-long border with two provinces of China; Yunnan and Guangxi. Over the years, Ha Giang and its neighboring Chinese provinces have been promoting comprehensive cooperation in various fields.
Annually, the youth of Ha Giang and their Chinese counterparts have consistently organized exchange programs and learning activities. In 2023, the youth of Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, and Yunnan successfully organized the Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange.

Through these exchange activities, the youth of Ha Giang and China have had opportunities to share experiences in youth union work and youth movements, strengthening mutual understanding, and fostering deeper bonds.
Continuing the tradition of friendly exchanges, there are numerous meaningful activities between the youth of Ha Giang and those of Yunnan and Guangxi provinces in the summer of 2024. In early August, a delegation of 50 representatives from the Ha Giang Youth Union, led by Nguyen Hai Duong, member of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and President of the Ha Giang Youth Union, participated in the 2024 China-Vietnam youth friendship exchange. The exchange program between the youth of Ha Giang and Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan province, was successfully held in Wenshan.
Nguyen Hai Duong said that in a spirit of friendship, sharing, and connection, the exchange program featured a meaningful forum focusing on topics such as youth entrepreneurship and businesses, cross-border e-commerce, border trade, youth cultural exchange, and sharing experiences in youth union work. Representatives from Chinese and Vietnamese youth offered valuable insights to further strengthen the friendly relations between the two sides.

In Guangxi province, the young delegates from Ha Giang had the opportunity to meet, visit, and experience diverse activities.
The exchange, learning, and cooperation activities of the youth of Ha Giang with the youth of Yunnan and Guangxi have been organized in accordance with the viewpoints and policies of the Parties and States of both sides.

At the same time, it has raised awareness among the youth of both countries about their role and responsibility in fostering Vietnam-China friendship, and working together towards development.
