Vietnamese doctors provide free cancer screening in Laos
(VNF) - During three days from August 15th to 17th, about 500 patients at the the Mother and Child Hospital in Vientiane, Laos will be offered free cancer screenings by a team of Vietnamese doctors.
High quality staff with a wealth of experience work enthusiastically to care for local women during their stay.
From August 14th-18th, 21 doctors and staffs of K Hospital (the Vietnamese National Cancer Hospital) and the Vietnamese National Cancer Research Institute, led by Nguyen Ba Tinh, Vice President of Vietnam Young Physicians' Association, are carrying out a program providing free breast and cervical cancer screenings for Lao women.
The program is conducted by K Hospital, the Vietnamese National Cancer Research Institute in collaboration with the Cancer Center of the Vietnam Friendship Hospital, Lao Mother and Child Hospital and Mahosot Hospital.
The team of Vietnamese doctors have brought modern machinery and equipment for medical examination and treatment such as ultrasound machine, X-ray machine, etc., also doctors Vietnam will also discuss the training of Lao health workers as well as assist the country with equipment for medical examination and treatment in Laos.
The event helped strengthen the comprehensive ties between the two countries and is one of the practical activities to support the Year of Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship./.

The event was meant to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Laos bilateral diplomatic ties and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.
