Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai and the mission have been working hard to promote gender equality, and integrate gender-related issues into discussions of international organizations, and at multilateral forums.
The mission has also actively mobilized support from international organizations for gender equality in Vietnam, while continuously promoting gender equality and the rights of women and girls at the UN Human Rights Council.
At the 53rd Regular Session of the Human Rights Council that is taking place in Geneva from June 19 to July 14, the Vietnamese mission has constructively joined discussions on women's rights.
It will chair and coordinate with some partners to organize discussions on the fight against violence, discrimination, and gender-based harassment in the workplace.

At the UN General Assembly's 76th Session, the General Assembly by consensus declared the 24th of June each year to be the International Day of Women in Diplomacy.
According to the UN, between 1992 and 2019, women were, on average, 13% of mutuals, 6% of mediators, and 6% of signatories in major peace processes worldwide.
Gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls will significantly contribute to the progress towards all Sustainable Development Goals.
