Vietnamese films to feature at 26th Singapore International Film Festival
Two films from Vietnamese directors will be screened at the 26th Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) which will open from November 26th to December 6th.
Young Vietnamese Director, Nguyen Phuong Anh has the honour of screening her highly acclaimed “Khitoinamchet” (As I lay dying) to compete in the short film category while “Cha va Con va...” (Big Father, Small Father and other stories) by Director, Phan Dang Di will be screened in the Asia Vision program.
SGIFF Executive Director, Wahhyuni A. Hadi said the Vietnamese films joining the festival promise to introduce audiences in the region, particularly in Singapore, to new stories on Vietnam. She also hoped to visit Vietnam to learn more about the country and its people and establish a partnership within the film industry between the two countries.
As the longest-running international film platform in Southeast Asia, SGIFF is known for its dynamic film programming and commitment to the development of a vibrant local film culture.
The 26th edition of the event will screen 146 feature and short films from 51 countries. At the event, the film “Panay” by Director Cheng Yu-chieh from Taiwan (China) will be screened to open this year’s festival./.
