According to statistics, over 30,000 Vietnamese people currently live, study, and work in Malaysia, including more than 10,000 Vietnamese brides. The number of mixed families is increasing, which heightens the demand for learning and teaching Vietnamese. Now in its 9th year, the Vietnamese language class at the Embassy has become more organized. The number of students has increased to 9 classes with more than 40 children, including 3 in-person classes and 6 online classes.
During her visit to the Vietnamese language class, Le Thi Thu Hang met with teachers, students, and parents. She expressed joy that the parents have preserved and maintained Vietnamese culture, which promotes the strength of Vietnamese culture, connects with the homeland, and builds solidarity and friendship with people from other countries. Le Thi Thu Hang announced that the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese will organize a summer camp for young children to visit their homeland with their families in the near future.
Le Thi Thu Hang praised the Embassy's efforts in supporting the overseas Vietnamese community and their focus on community work. Notably, the Embassy has supported the Vietnamese Language Club by purchasing teaching materials and creating favorable conditions for teachers and students to excel. These efforts contribute to preserving the Vietnamese identity and promoting the Vietnamese language's development within the global Vietnamese community.
Each overseas Vietnamese is an ambassador abroad, promoting Vietnamese culture and people to international friends. Therefore, overseas Vietnamese should preserve and promote Vietnamese traditions and customs, bringing international friends closer to Vietnam," said Le Thi Thu Hang.
As part of her working trip, Le Thi Thu Hang also visited and extended New Year greetings to exemplary overseas Vietnamese families in Malaysia and toured the production models of notable enterprises.
