From nearly 10,000 entries submitted from 70 countries around the world, they had a total of 4 finalist images, including 1 category win.

Dang Hoai Anh won the Champagne Taittinger Food for Celebration category with an atmospheric capture of a man making Banh Hoi Cake, a speciality dish often eaten at celebratory occasions.

Vietnamese photographer Đặng Hoài Anh won the Champagne Taittinger Food for Celebration category with an atmospheric capture of a man making Banh Hoi Cake, a speciality dish often eaten at celebratory occasions.

Photographer Cao Thi Ngoc Diem had an impressive three images become finalists. A stunning aerial capture of a fishing boat in the coastal mangrove forest of Duyen Hai, Tra Vinh in Vietnam was third in the Bring Home the Harvest category.

The image ‘Return of the Ducks’, which captures a man herding together ducks during the flooding season in An Giang was Highly Commended in the Food in the Field category. “The sunlight glistens on the water as a farmer guides the flock from a small boat, showcasing the deep connection between humans and nature,” says Cao Thi Ngoc Diem. “Interestingly, to avoid mixing up their flocks, duck farmers dye their ducks’ feathers, and this particular flock has been dyed pink.”

Cao Thi Ngoc Diem’s aerial capture of buffalo wading through the flooded fields on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City was also Highly Commended in the Food in the Field category.

The winners of the competition’s 25 categories were revealed by renowned chef, restaurateur and food writer Yotam Ottolenghi at the Mall Galleries, London on Tuesday 20 May at an awards evening gathering stars of the food and arts worlds.

A heartwarming image, The Elderly Having Delicious Food, by Chinese photographer Xiaoling Li is the Overall Winner of the competition. The image, which had first won the Food for the Family supported by The Felix Project category, was taken in Shuangliu Ancient Town in the Sichuan Province of China. “The elderly ladies in the picture are ‘setting up a Dragon Gate formation’,” says Xiaoling Li. “This is an expression used in China to refer to neighbo

rhood friends coming together to chat, gossip and share stories. They eat the famous Sichuan snack 'Spring rolls’. Food makes these people happy; they enjoy a beautiful and joyful life.”

A free-to-enter exhibition of all 185 Finalist images premieres at The Mall Galleries, London, running from May 21 - 25. A selection of images will also be exhibited at Fortnum and Mason from June 2, as well as Museum of the Home from June 3 - September 7.
