Vietnamese, Russian Associations Strengthen People-to-people Exchanges
"The children's painting contest "I draw Vietnam - I draw Russia" is a bright spot in cooperation between the two nation's friendship organization for nearly a decade," said its Vice President Regina Budarina, stressing that the two associations will continue to coordinate and organize many activities to develop cooperation in the fields of culture, education, trade, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.

At a working meeting between the two friendship associations on March 15 in Hanoi, Phan Chi Hieu, president of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association, congratulated Budarina who was recently awarded the Vietnam Friendship Medal by President Vo Van Thuong for her contributions in strengthening solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between Vietnam and Russia according to Decision No. 1667/QD-CTN signed on December 27, 2023.
Hieu expressed his wish that the Russia - Vietnam Friendship Association continue to cooperate closely with his association, and strengthen people-to-people exchange cooperation, thereby making practical contributions to deepening the Vietnam - Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.
Trinh Quoc Khanh, standing vice president of the association, informed Budarina about the results of the 6th National Congress of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association in the 2023-2028 term.
In the coming time, the association will organize many activities with rich content, contributing to promoting cooperation between Vietnam and Russia in the fields of education, culture, tourism, and trade.
Moreover, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam - Soviet Friendship Association, now the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association, in 2025, the association will publish a special yearbook on 75 years of Vietnam - Soviet Union relations, now Vietnam - Russia. Currently, the association is collecting documents and photos for the yearbook.
In addition to the annual children's drawing contest, the association is planning to organize a music contest for Vietnam - Russia, in which Russians will perform songs in Vietnamese and vice versa.

Budarina informed her host that the Trade Promotion Center of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association operates with good results. The center and the Vietnam Hotel Association signed a cooperation agreement to implement the project "Russian Products in Vietnamese Hotels".
Accordingly, typical Russian regional products have been displayed and introduced at many hotels in Vietnam. In the coming time, the center will promote the introduction and display of Vietnamese products at hotels in Russia. Budarina hopes that the project will contribute to promoting cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade and tourism business.
Within the framework of the working meeting between the leaders of the two associations, Budarina, Trinh Quoc Khanh and Nguyen Thi Thu Dat, head of the Pushkin Institute in Hanoi, signed to announce the painting contest "I draw Vietnam - I draw Russia", officially launching the 8th edition in 2024.
