What is the outstanding significance of President Vo Van Thuong's business trip to China to attend the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation?
This is a business trip to China and also the first multilateral foreign activity of President Vo Van Thuong in his new position.
This is also the first Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation after a long period of interruption due to the pandemic, so it is valued by China and other countries.
Therefore, the participation of President Vo Van Thuong at this high-level International Cooperation Forum is extremely important on both bilateral and multilateral levels.
On the multilateral level, in the context of a slow world economic recovery, the participation of President Vo Van Thuong demonstrates Vietnam's strong commitment to multilateralism, demonstrating initiative and positivity in strengthening regional, global economic cooperation and linkages.
President Vo Van Thuong will join leaders and representatives of more than 140 countries and international organizations to discuss important contents and topics.
They are considered the new driving force of each country's economic recovery process as well as the global economy such as green transformation, digital transformation, modern agriculture, small and medium-sized enterprise development, and startups.
On the bilateral level, this business trip of President Vo Van Thuong is respected by the leaders of the two countries. This is a high-level foreign affairs activity in the year commemorating the 15th anniversary of the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
The meetings between President Vo Van Thuong and key Chinese leaders will contribute to strengthening political trust, maintaining relations as well as creating new opportunities for cooperation after many high-level activities between the two countries, especially the official visit to China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (October 2022).
This helps the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership develop healthier, more stable and sustainable in the coming time.
What cooperation will be promoted during this business trip of President Vo Van Thuong?
First, in the context of world economic decline, President Vo Van Thuong's participation at the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation will contribute to strengthening regional and global economic links, especially when Vietnam is a country with great economic openness.
Second, the exchange and discussion of Vietnam's development direction by President Vo Van Thuong, leaders of China and other countries will contribute to bringing about lessons, experiences, taking advantage of resources and expanding economic cooperation.
Meetings between President Vo Van Thuong and key Chinese leaders as well as other international leaders attending the forum will open up new cooperation opportunities for Vietnam.
